Katelyn’s Story
I was raised in a family of hunters, so my brother and I were quickly acquainted to the hunting and fishing lifestyle when we were young. I ventured out bear hunting for the first time with my dad when I was three, and my brother and I were always along for waterfowl hunting for as long as I can remember. I hunt a little bit of everything when I have time, but my passions lie within bear hunting and waterfowl hunting. I scored big my first time out bear hunting at the age of 12 when I shot a 428-pound black bear that scored 20 10/16” at the Minnesota Deer Classic in 2006.
Being out in the woods or on the lake is the perfect get away from the craziness of life! I love hunting in Minnesota and I’ve hunted waterfowl, coyotes, and pheasants in North Dakota, but I would really like to get into bow hunting to experience another dimension of hunting. Someday I hope to travel and hunt as well. I’ve dreamed of bear hunting in Alaska for quite a while, so we’ll see what the future brings!
