Growing up in Minnesota, I put my blaze orange on every year for whitetail gun season. For several years, the outcome was nothing more than stories and experiences of “the one that got away,” but those experiences quickly hooked me. I finally harvested my first deer, a fork buck, when I was 15 years old and hunting with my brother.
I bought my first bow when I was 19 from a co-worker of mine, that ended up teaching me a lot about bowhunting. We used to skip our lunch break and go shoot bows at All-Season Sports in Delano. When I started bowhunting, I jumped in with both feet. I began doing food plots and enjoyed getting much closer to deer and experiencing things that I di
dn’t know I could. I’ve had the opportunity to be a land manager for two separate
properties, and I love working that land to improve the deer
herd while using QDM principles. I enjoy hunting my home state,
but have also hunted Wisconsin, and more recently found
Montana to be an amazing place to hunt for a wide variety of
big-game animals. I had the opportunity this past September to
take a great buck that was partially shedding his velvet while in
I’ve seen some unbelievable things in the woods, but the scariest
moment I’ve experienced was being escorted out of the woods
by a cow moose protecting her calf. Hands down, I’m most
excited about my 5 year old son enjoying shooting his bow with
me, and begging me to bring him hunting. The best part of
hunting is sharing it with those around you, especially when you can pass it down and leave a legacy for your kids.
I’ve recently started trying my hand at filming hunts, and am enjoying learning a new challenge. My next endeavor is to go on an elk hunt, and to someday hunt moose.
What they’re saying about the Minnesota Hunting Club
Minnesota Hunting Club Sponsors
I love this club it is full of very respectful hunters who understand that everyone has different opinions. I absolutely love animals and am a large advocate for protecting the wildlife. This group understand the importance of conservation for future generations, and the importance of hunting has in management of wildlife.
They call it the Minnesota Hunting Club, but don’t let the name fool you. This group is everything outdoors. Tons of knowledge on just about everything, outdoors and otherwise, and lots of great people who are here to answer questions, help each other out, and even get together occasionally to make some memories. Great club!
Great place for fellow hunters to come together, share stories, ask questions and improve the overall hunting numbers with ethical hunters.
Just a wealth of knowledge. This being my first year hunting, there are so many guys willing to offer advice and insight on a particular situation!
Great place for people to learn more about hunting, and connect with others that love the outdoors!
Its the best group I’m part of! Awesome group of people with a lot of knowledge!
